Create your own haven of indulgence to end the day on a note of luxurious pampering, using bathroom décor to bring a romantic edge to the room. Taking centre stage in this bathroom which combines masculine and feminine touches, the standalone bath for two with freestanding mixer from Hansgrohe brings a feminine softness to the room, juxtaposed against the crisp lines of the custom made Duco vanity drawers. This bathroom is a study in functional décor with custom made mirror cabins for ample storage of perfumes and toiletries adding to the sleek finish of the room, while lending an effect of spaciousness. Expansiveness is further highlighted by the large tile format, bringing an ease of flow and space. Indulgences such as the streamlined heated towel rail and perspex bath caddy provide additional storage. This theme of indulgence is carried through to the custom designed vanity made from quartz stone with its wooden continued in the feature of the suspended TV, unit used as a focal point while providing the necessary functionality for the tv. Designed in collaboration with Romi Kaplan from R. Kaplan Interiors, the Bella Bathroom design team met with the client to get an understanding of how the owners perceived their bathroom relaxation, enabling the team to design a space around their lifestyle. Needless to say, the owners were treated to the Bella Bathroom design experience accompanied by the Bella Showroom’s renowned espresso. Taking personal details into account such as the homeowners love of bathing together over a glass of wine followed by a TV series before bed, the Bella team took this to the next level, including a delightful fireplace under the TV unit to bring an indulgent cosiness on colder nights, creating a place where the homeowners can unwind in a beautiful space infused with romantic indulgences.
This Zen inspired modern bathroom combines both natural and synthetic elements, creating a relaxing ambiance. Pebbles, further highlighted by an inlaid LED light create a distinctive look. This is bordered by a polished porcelain tiled flooring, and further accented by the wall mounted his and hers wooden vanity above. The curved contour of the taps is continued by the freestanding mixer of the rectangular shaped standalone bathtub with its tapered side detail. A bath caddy provides the perfect space for toiletries, enhancing the relaxing bath experience. Unslung basins maximise the workspace of the vanity, while the mirror, boarded by sconce lighting creates the feeling of depth, making the bathroom appear more expansive. The chrome door handles are continued by the silver framed paintings which further contribute to the symmetry of the modern theme while acting as a source of interest for the painted backdrop of the bath area and highlighting the stand alone bath in the process.
Achieve this striking look for a small bathroom, using an oval contoured standalone bath, with its water spout embedded in the wall, optimising the space constraints of the bath area. The white shade of the walls gives a refreshing feeling while visually opening up the space. Its angular tap adds character to the room. Using a wall mounted basin frees up floor space, while the large mirror creates a 3-D effect, again visually expanding the room. Optimise space further using a heated towel rail, introducing a touch of luxury. The wood-look floor finish can be achieved with a Ceramic Glazed wood grain tile or Porcelain cream wood-look, providing a contrasting backdrop which highlights the bath ware while giving the room a warm atmosphere.
A variety of different bathroom elements come together to create a minimalist appearance of simplicity. A wood tiled floor is juxtaposed with a darker wood tiled wall which forms the backdrop of both the oval stand alone bath and the shower. The shower asymmetrical shape of the shower adds interest and further defines the bathroom’s modern theme. The chrome of the bath spout is continued by the bath towel rail, embeded in the ceramic cream tiled wall in the shower and continued by the rain shower head.
The grey marble floor finish continued on the walls creating a seamless finish effect. Space is maximised in this bathroom by using a wall mounted vanity and toilet, leaving open spaces around these bathware so which creates the impression of additional space in the room. Even the ceiling space is maximised with recessed lights and a ceiling mounted shower head. The rectangular basin with its wall mounted tap gives the bathroom a modern edge, with the far back wall providing a convenient ledge for bathroom toiletries.
This modern bathroom uses the shaft of natural light from the window as a design element, illuminating the exquisite marble look-alike tile with its ‘v’ shaped grain achieved by a specialised inkjet process, positioning the oval standalone bath as the focal point of the bathroom décor. The wall recesses add interest and provide storage for bathroom toiletries. Different tiling cuts add character to the space. The floor finish has a travertine tile which is cut into rectangular strips which is continued in the larger cuts of the tiled wall, creating a seamless effect. The bath area includes the shower so that the bathing area is separated from the rest of the bathroom by the glass door.
This modern bathroom maximises the elongated bathroom shape to pay homage to the beautifully shaped Cabrits bath from Victoria & Albert. Achieved by using polished porcelain 60x60 tiles which draw the eye through the main bathroom area up to the raised platform in black marble, exquisitely highlighted by the LED strip lighting which also serves to demarcate the two bathroom areas. White walls of the shower with its polished 60x60 tiles give this space its own identity, while the black matt 60 x 60 tiling used in the bath area forms part of an elaborate backdrop to the standalone bathtub, together with the large glass wall which brings in the bright greenery of the outside. This is completed by the white wall with its heated towel rail, uniting the shower area with this space. The bath is further highlighted by the sit on basins, also part of the Victoria & Albert range, with their beautiful oval shape acting as a variation on the shape of the bath. Wall mounted basin mixers and spout inset in mirror add the final touch to this minimalist style that effortlessly incorporates the beautiful sanware and signature elements of a modern bathroom.
This modern bathroom is infused with the influence of the Japanese Bathroom style with its emphasis on nature evident in the natural colour of the cream 60 x 60 tiled floor. This lends a feeling of serenity to the bathroom, an essential quality this style, which is carried through the charcoal 60 x 60 tiled wall with its customized sandblasted effect, a special technique offered by Bella Bathrooms. An oval free standing bath is symmetrically placed opposite a semi-frameless shower enclosure with an adjustable shower head which can be used as a hand shower as well. The sit on zen-like basin shape contributes to the Zen effect of the Japanese style, while the wall mounted basin and mixer spout provide a modern edge. Using natural material of wood for the modern influenced vanity, with its elongated mirror, and including the material in the little stool again brings in the Zen emphasis of nature, echoed in the Japanese styled floral print on the wall. Suspending a modern black light over the bath provides sufficient lighting for a relaxing bath read at night. Beautiful down lighters both illuminate and highlight the vanity area, while the recessed light over the shower combines both the modern style in its design and the Zen style in its effect of adding to the serenity of the room.
This modern bathroom presents a beautifully ordered minimalist style. Oval sit on basins on an elongated vanity provide a variation on the shape of the standalone bathtub. The floors’ grey porcelain tile is offset by the porcelain charcoal of the wall with its interesting concrete theme. This colour is continued in the mirrors, which reflect the additional elements in the room, enhancing the burst of colour brought in through the big windows which frame and accentuate the bath area of the room.

This modern Bali styled bathroom creates an extension of the beach with it coloured tiles, imitating the look of beach sand. The theme of natural elements is used in the stone cladding of the wall, arranged to look like the mountain side. The beauty of the surroundings is included as a design element through the thin rectangular window, open truss pitched roof and large rectangular window, allowing in the sea view below. The freestanding bath and matching basin mirror these rectangular shaped windows, while the vanity unit in wood with its cobble quartz top continues the look and relaxing feel of a beach experience.
Texture and natural colours are brought together to create a modern look in this open plan bathroom. This is introduced through the floor finish of screeded concrete, contrasted by the wood tile of the shower area, lightened by the concrete blocks of the wall which give an earthy, stone age look. Bathware is used to compartmentalise the different areas of the room, using a freestanding bath and mixer together with an European influenced exposed shower column with integrated soap holders in the designated shower-bath area. The modern basin echoes the shape of the bath, establishing this as a separate washing area, along with the use of repetition of material of the floating wooden shelves and framed mirror in wood finish which continue the theme of the wood tile of the shower. This theme is extended in the wooden floors of the bedroom area and bathroom furniture stool. Further unity is achieved in the chrome of the bottle trap, shower and bath mixer. Lighting detail is introduced by the cut out slit by the bath which enhances the overall earthy ambiance of this bathroom design.
This modern classic styled bathroom highlights the modern rectangular bath with a backdrop of beautiful travertine mosaics, which also provide a surface for the angled separate hot & cold taps with a wall spout, providing character to this area and giving the bathroom a more classic look. Tiling behind a bath is a good idea since it is a wet area and the tiling prevents damp. The travertine tiled flooring creates a focus for the floor, while drawing the eye to the bath area by matching the background mosaic tiling. Rectangular under counter basins with elegantly styled angled mixers, reinforce the modern feel, rounded off by ‘his and her’ mirrors. A wicker basket for towels and the bath mat which matches the wall colour add character and colour to the bathroom, adding interest both to the flooring and the bath area.
The clean lines of this bathroom, together with the elegant use of space is typical of the modern styled bathroom. The charcoal 60x60 inlay feature, accentuates the surrounding wood tile. This contrasting effect is replicated in the wall which serves as a backdrop to the egg shaped bath and freestanding mixer. The effective use of space is continued with the flush mounted ceiling shower with its *thermostatic diverted mixer and adjustable hand shower, with an artistic interpretation of the element of space seen in the shower channel with its tile insert, achieving a seamless floor look. The multi-purpose shower wall cleverly houses the wall taps for the basin and creates a ledge for storage (which is mirrored on the opposite side by the bath area). In turn the wall mounted taps allow for a thinner vanity unit, further facilitating the compact use of space. Oval basins curved symmetrically on either side create a sense of balance, while, bringing through the white of the vanity base with its wooden top. The minimalist expression of this modern bathroom is continued in the beautiful cove lighting in the ceiling, providing the perfect finishing touch to this modern style
Tile is used both functionally and decoratively in this modern bathroom where the elegance of minimalist furniture meets the detail of texture. The bathroom uses the elements of texture and furniture in a very interesting way, taking a built-in bath and cladding it in marble to give it a freestanding look. Marble is continued in the walls where robe hooks & towel rails are positioned for convenience. Contrast is achieved by the wood tile of the floors, continued in the floating shelves with their sit on basins. Wooden blinds add interesting detail to the window while also allowing a view of the outside greenery, mirrored inside by the frosted green glass shower screen which provides both character through its bright colour and affords privacy for this bathroom area. One of the highlights of the bathroom is found in the amazing ceiling detail where the glass is butt jointed with wooden slits, bringing in a beautiful view of the trees and sky. The Modern lounger and side table complete the look, affording a spa experience in this modern bathroom design.
